The Reserve Bank Board will meet in Tasmania for the first time when it holds its monthly meeting in Hobart in April.
The state government on Tuesday said it will provide a “secure location” where the board can meet in the southern capital on April 5.
“Board members and a small number of senior staff of the Reserve Bank will then host a dinner with local business people and senior community leaders providing an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the local economy first hand,” Treasurer Peter Gutwein said.
