Feedsy hits the stage at SouthStart

The Feedsy team were honoured to be selected as finalists at the SouthStart conference this year, and Gav and Kirsty hit the stage in front of several hundred fellow South Australian entrepreneurs, founders and investors on July 6th.

Earlier in June, Feedsy were invited to pitch to a panel of investors and innovation experts to present our business and our plans for growth.

The event was opened by the Honourable Lord Mayor, Martin Haese who encouraged businesses to embrace change and suggested that a great time to innovate is when your business is on the rise – when you have momentum. We could not agree more.

There was a high calibre of speakers and panelists including Adam Jacobs, co-founder of The Iconic and Mad Paws founder, Alexis Soulopoulos.

But the highlight of the day was when Feedsy took the stage to pitch with the other five finalists. We had a strict four minutes to convince the three  judges:  Elaine Stead from Blue Sky,  Catherine Eibner from Blue Chilli and Alex McCauley from StartUpAus. We were amongst four other great South Aussie innovations:

  • Playt (a recipe book to online shopping app)
  • Hop The Wall (a way for Chinese visitors to digitally engage with Australian brands)
  • Personify Care (a better for carers  to access patient medical records)
  • Frontier Microscopy (automated microscopy for labs)

It was a talented field and we were honoured to come second to Personify Care and their incredible improvements to patient care at the hospital bed.

The real win for us was the discovery of this vibrant community of entrepreneurs and founders and we hope to be seeing more of you all.

Thanks Aainaa and the team at Southstart. See you next year.
