Dr Nick Birbilis shares his ideas for next-generation bio-inspired materials that will signal a new paradigm for future manufacturing. Nick is a materials designer, having developed several advanced alloys that are used in a range of engineering applications around the world. When not creating sparks in the lab, he is the Deputy Dean of Engineering and Computer Science at the Australian National University. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
